Something tells me you are quite a character, Professor Tracey! (I mean that as a compliment)

KathieKathie Truitthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04112414357583203795noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7428262663623493707.post-41640866113835371142008-11-13T16:45:00.000-05:002008-11-13T16:45:00.000-05:00Kathie -Thanks for your comments. I appreciate you...Kathie -

Thanks for your comments. I appreciate your words, but you never find on this blog where I EVER say that anyone that doesn't vote for Obama is a racist.

I point out racism on this blog, I point out the failure to be knowledgeable about others on this blog, but I never would question the right of people to vote as they please as long as it is not based on out-dated stereotypes of black people.

Please come back to the blog, all views are welcome!Dr. Tracey Salisburyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06209154351201523646noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7428262663623493707.post-79317440076757924332008-11-13T15:32:00.000-05:002008-11-13T15:32:00.000-05:00As a white, Republican woman, I'd like to tell you...As a white, Republican woman, I'd like to tell you why Michelle Obama is nothing like Jackie Kennedy. First of all, her husband is nothing like Jackie's - either one of them. I'd bet my pinky finger that Michelle's husband is totally faithful to her. I am sure that they are partners - he has said she is his best advisor. 'Nuff said.

While Michelle and Jackie are both very pretty, and very well-dressed, I think that in itself was everything to Jackie. Michelle, I believe from what I have seen of her, has much more substance than to care only about her looks/appearances. I think she'll be slightly guarded, but outgoing and down to earth with all people.
She is intelligent and won't try to hide it, but won't go out of her way to flaunt it, either. All in all, I think Michelle is a class act.

Now, with that said, Professor. I've been a lifelong Republican. Mr. Obama's race doesn't mean anything to me. I just never vote outside of my party, because I feel my party best represents my beliefs and values.

I wish you didn't think that
just because someone didn't vote for Mr. Obama or that they think Michelle is not as 'smart', etc as Jackie that they are racist. It doesn't mean that at all.

I am hoping above all hope that since Mr. Obama has won this presidency that once and for all it heals a very, very ugly mark called 'racism' in our country.
I pray to God that every child in the U.S. now knows that whatever color they are they can be anything they want to be.

KathieKathie Truitthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04112414357583203795noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7428262663623493707.post-6009928760268684832008-02-27T14:24:00.000-05:002008-02-27T14:24:00.000-05:00KAS -You clearly don't know a damn about Michelle ...KAS -

You clearly don't know a damn about Michelle Obama because you're talking a lot of trash. And your comment about class sounds very racist and truly stupid to me.

Michelle Obama went to Princeton University for undergrad and earned a law degree from Harvard Law School. French literature? Are you joking? You're the one that needs to get real.

And you're Michelle Obama is nothing like Jackie O - Thank goodness!!!!Dr. Tracey Salisburyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06209154351201523646noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7428262663623493707.post-67268710022388894552008-02-27T13:30:00.000-05:002008-02-27T13:30:00.000-05:00... Compare their biographies, I find the comparison insulting to Michelle Obama.
Posted by Professor Tracey

It is Jackie who would be EXTREMELY insulted.

Jackie studied French Literature and was once named "Debutante of the Year".

Jackie had more natural born class in her pinky finger than Michelle Obama has in her entire body. Get real.

She is NOTHING like Jackie O. What a stupid comment to ever compare them to begin with.KAShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18040992595465034482noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7428262663623493707.post-32144254871403537152008-01-10T23:13:00.000-05:002008-01-10T23:13:00.000-05:00Black folks need to stay on guard and be alert abo...Black folks need to stay on guard and be alert about the commmentary from mainstream pundits. The Obama stock is new to them and they really are at a lost of words, there references always direct to the past, they don't know how to look forward.Bellinihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07059515033669847759noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7428262663623493707.post-14869130571645194032008-01-10T14:14:00.000-05:002008-01-10T14:14:00.000-05:00"Like her husband, Michelle Obama has not given mu..."Like her husband, Michelle Obama has not given much indication of what kind of first lady she intends to be."

Have any of the previous first ladies given any indication during their husbands' campaigning period? Their job is to always look interested when their husbands speaks while simultaneously smiling & clapping. Of course there is much more depth to these women. But, besides their appearance, how much impact do they truly have on the outcome of the elections.

I do think Michelle Obama & Hillary Clinton (during Bill's run) are both exceptions. Michelle Obama's presence has been a huge factor in increasing support for Obama.

I don't even know the names of most of the candidates' wives.Dark & Stormyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17596589641965177442noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7428262663623493707.post-74000347290424674722008-01-10T12:23:00.000-05:002008-01-10T12:23:00.000-05:00I read the Wikipedia bio on Michelle, which stated...I read the Wikipedia bio on Michelle, which stated that she won Vanity's "Best Dressed" award...I don't know about that, from some of things I've seen her don (anyone remember the "puffed out" black skirt/dress with Oprah?! LOL)

I do think they make a nice, attractive family, but does that qualify them to be the First Family? I told myself never to read anything again by that woman after she said that sistas are fat cuz they wanna look like Buffie the Body.

Anyhow, this is exactly why feminism is looked down upon: it's distorted definition perpetrated by angry men & perpetuated by even angrier feminists.

Feminism = freedom of choice. Point blank period. If Michelle felt that she chose wisely by leaving her job, then that's simply her prerogative.

& it's not as if Michelle can't go back to work in the future. & last I heard, willingness to sacrifice for marriage/family is fundamental.Anonymisshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13030472200941563001noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7428262663623493707.post-49677629766281881652008-01-09T09:58:00.000-05:002008-01-09T09:58:00.000-05:00I really like Michelle Obama. Running for president is definitely a two person job, so it does make sense for her to quit her job -- I'm thinking that's the wise thing for her to do.

So yeah, she's not Jackie O -- I think that she would be BETTER than Jackie O (who, by the way I find highly overrated). She at least seems smarter than her.SheCodeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16781431886213930930noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7428262663623493707.post-29727368164392572982008-01-09T08:49:00.000-05:002008-01-09T08:49:00.000-05:00interesting prof tracey... i see her as having the...interesting prof tracey...
i see her as having the Courage that she prayed for in order to do this. she has been prepared for this time-and i think she will be able to stand by her beliefs.

not giving up her "hand" by telling all of us what her plans are-is a good thing considering how that would take away from the larger plan...for right now. personally i believe the both of them have been PUT right there for just this time!

by telling her plans as first lady, would give their enemies too much info to early.

i also think that her integrity will stand up strongly against any negative comments and actions thrown by those that are part of the shallowness of self-appointed modern day slave gatekeepers.

she has been black her whole life and what she is going through is part of the same things, only on a larger scale--i would imagine, it's nothing new to her.

there are those that do not want any growth to happen if it does not benefit them financially.

to throw crumbs and dry bones at the masses and tell us that it is a 7 course meal is what they are trying once again.

i'm just sitting back and watching them show their hand by the comments they make and their actions and re-actions to each situation.

and if people want to shoot her down for 'standing by her husband" then i guess jealousy and envy lives in their hearts.
remember, the mouth will speak what the heart loves and desires.wisdomteachesmehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04064324322310160672noreply@blogger.com
