If he had taken away resources from the wealthy White S. African, he would have been painted as a Mugabe.

Even though what we had was stolen from us, we have to play fair to even be given the opportunity to earn it back. In doing so, we play into the hands that seek to change our support of major black public figures in our entire lifetimes.

I also agree that Nelson was living in a bubble to think that a marriage that had existed only in mutual thought for decades could be successful upon his release without ongoing counseling... he returned to an entirely different woman in some respects...the battle had changed his wife and she could not go back to being the exact same person he had left behind.

Peace, blessings and DUNAMIS!
LisaLISA VAZQUEZhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13583559303233985031noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7428262663623493707.post-69844813669167097172008-06-22T11:40:00.000-04:002008-06-22T11:40:00.000-04:00I'm not sure exactly what happened with Winnie Man...I'm not sure exactly what happened with Winnie Mandela. Not many folks asked the right questions. She got painted as a bad person so quickly there was little to change it.

I don't think she was innocent, but this was a woman under threat and under siege for many years and then she suddenly expected to do a 360 degree turn and trust everyone around her. That could not have been easy.

And I was always disturbed that Nelson Mandela thought that after so many years apart that they would pick up their marriage where it left off. They needed counseling or a serious understanding, but he wanted to run South Africa first.

Winnie Mandela paid a terrible price for being married to Nelson Mandela and I don't think she ever got much in the deal. Like the wives of MLK, Malcolm X, and Medgar Evers, she kept that man's name alive and then got tossed away in the end.Dr. Tracey Salisburyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06209154351201523646noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7428262663623493707.post-7393441356294070532008-06-22T11:23:00.000-04:002008-06-22T11:23:00.000-04:00hhummmmmmyes, good quote.....but.....didn't she do...hhummmmmm
yes, good quote.....but.....didn't she do a lot out of pride and greed maybe???

not that we can't forgive her...but what is her motive now?

i know we all make mistakes the the Lord Knows i've made my share of them and i am not protected from making more...

i just pray she is living with the correct motives now...not the power/money movement assoc. with greed. fear makes a person do things that faith keeps your protected from.

she is a powerful woman in many rights....wisdomteachesmehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04064324322310160672noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7428262663623493707.post-67218629698038990562008-06-22T04:23:00.000-04:002008-06-22T04:23:00.000-04:00Am I wrong to think Winnie Mandela got a bum rap?Am I wrong to think Winnie Mandela got a bum rap?Faith at Acts of Faith Bloghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02150553143062604249noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7428262663623493707.post-70047589636556083422008-06-22T03:56:00.000-04:002008-06-22T03:56:00.000-04:00Hello Professor Tracey,This quote is so powerful. ...Hello Professor Tracey,

This quote is so powerful.

I can not tell you how much Winnie Mandela has moved me in so many deep places.

Thanks for honoring her.

Peace, blessings and DUNAMIS!
LisaLISA VAZQUEZhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13583559303233985031noreply@blogger.com
