Hi Professor Tracey,
Is that Dorie Miller?
Dorie Miller. Hero on the U.S. Arizona during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.
Dorie Miller, one of the handful of individuals who shot back at the Japanese during the attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941.
Miller, like many blacks in the Navy, was relegated to mess hall duty and ammo loading. That he brought down a couple of planes was a total surprise to American authorities.
No surprise to me.
ooh-ooh-i know that face--shoot...let me get a book to make sure--LOL...
Yup...Dorie Miller.
Excellent job! Dorie Miller it truly is. Another "American" hero who has been overlooked!
I'll have to come up with something really hard.
