Prof. Tracey,
I sent you an email a while back.
Sorry, I am behind on my e-mail. One more week in the semester. I will get back to you ASAP, sister friend!
Hmm...
Isn't this the woman with an open marriage--July 2006 Essence?
How does one define control?
One thing about the control debate I find troubling is that it can lead to an argument that there should be no ground rules that each partner should follow. In effect anything "goes," or "I can do whatever I want, regardless of what s/he wants. You can't control me."
That quote coming from a woman who takes care of a man that she is quasi-married to and has twins for.
Laughable at best... and chitlin' eatin' at worst.
Open marriage ? Uhhmmm...eewwww
Exactly, blkseagoat.
Either she is being controlled (and dogged) but doesn't want to recognize it, or she refuses to recognize her power and right to make demands, because she doesn't want to seem "controlling".
I agree with Blkseagoat and PioneerValleyWoman!
I think that Mo'Nique needs to stop this whole pretending game.
I am not bashing my sista but doesn't she have four kids by three different men? Was she not pregnant out of wedlock in three out of three pregnancies?
Now she is saying how in control she is in her relationships?
Clearly, there is something I am missing. This just does not compute.
Let us pray...
Lisa
