How Ronald Burris And Bobby Rush Proved That Black People Have Absolutely No Political Power Despite The Election Of A Black President
Bobby Rush needs to retire to where ever former Black Panthers, now Complete Sellouts go to retire. If as Ta-Nehisi Coates points out, Rush is so concerned about a black Senator being in the Congress, why did he support the white dude that ran against Barack Obama in 2004? Shut up Bobby!
The because you need somebody black excuse ain't gonna cut it anymore in American politics. That ship has sailed. If black folks want to be Senator, then you have to run for office, period. Other black folks have to be willing to donate big money, volunteer for these campaigns, and then vote for these candidates. And expect to lose and have to run again. It isn't easy to get elected!
Ronald Burris doesn't give a damn about representing the people of Illinois, he just wants to be Senator before he croaks. Being elected to something with a serious title is just on his bucket list and I think it's disgusting. And if you have to write this much crap on your own self-erected "future" tombstone, you didn't really accomplish very much in my book. Mr Burris is like school in summer, no class and clearly no ethics either.

It is a new day and those who didn't get the memo need to check their spam box.
I have to agree with you on this one. Rush is smack talking from the time he parts his lips until he is interrupted.
Fair minded people realize that there comes a time when enough is just that-enough!
I hope the people of Illinois makes that plain to him.
Burris REALLY wants to be senator doesn't he.... I didn't know dude had a shrine to himself already.
Did I just hear a Fat Albert blast? LOL - Thats too funny!
OMG!!! That monument to himself (and his wife, I guess) is really a sight to behold.
I can't imagine erecting such a shrine on behalf of myself.
I agree. The people of Illnois don't want him. He has won and lost several elections. He needs to just sit his azz down and prepare to be enshrined.
ROFL @ the size of that monument. You'd think you was visiting Arlington Nat'l Cemetary with all of that. Back on topic, the thing that made me cringe was the comparison to lynchings with the stalling of senate appointment...smh!
Well there does need to be more Black Senators! I find it interesting that 2 out of the 3 since Reconstruction came from IL. Barack was smart to get out of dodge as quickly as he could. I wrote a post about the Black female politicians that should be in the running for Senator in NYS and it's crickets over there. We need to be supporting more candidates and looking to encourage people to run even instead of waiting to see who shows up.
