Professor Tracey Had No Interest In Watching The Grammys But For Those That Did Watch It - How Was The Show?
Artists appearing in this kind of state is why I lost complete interest in award shows a long, long, long, long, time ago. For my friends that can't resist watching what passes for musical entertainment these days, an open thread of discussion for you. Don't say I never gave you anything.

I don't watch award shows either they are so boring. But the woman in the pic MIA love her music and have to hand it to her for preforming on her due date. But Professor Tracy you need to see the drama that isn't even at the Grammy. Rihanna who I personally think has no talent and her boyfriend Chris Brown got into it and they are saying fists were flying.
Im with RainaHavock on the award show circut. Never been into them and like her I am too busy reading about little Chris Brown beating on his girl. Wth? It's always the ones you least expect.
Yeah I have to chime in - I love MIA. She always has a "unique" style of dressing. You're not going to see her in more traditional attire. That's her thing. But yeah the bug news of the night is the altercation between Rihanna and Chris Brown. He beat her up, she had to go to the hospital, he took off, the police were looking for him and he finally turned himself in, posted bond and left. They had to cancel their respective performances. I guess it's a good thing they never confirmed they were dating. I also would have expected this from Jay-Z before Chris Breezy but anyone is capable of doing anything. I liked the Neil Diamond tribute oddly enough.
The show was flat -- I think the musical director was some brain donor from American Idol and it showed.
Stevie Wonder performing with the Jonas Brothers was really a lowlight.
I watched because I really wanted to see Coldplay. The song with Justin Timberlake and TI was amazing. Jennifer Hudson was gorgeous and I was rooting for her win!! I didn't really hear the lyrics of the song she sang but, she sang it beautifully!! About the pregnant lady in the polka dots...umm...yeah I could have done without that. I believe everyone would have understood if she weren't there. I was not impressed. Oh wait, Al Green and Justin Timberlake were good, Kanya and ___ (I forget her name!!!) were good also. I loved the song Kid Rock performed also!!!
Those were the highlights for me. All in all, you didn't miss a thing and I was thoroughly entertained while doing the last minute Sunday chores to start my week fresh.
I quit them award shows, too. Just silly drama for the masses...
I love MIA, but her outfit was awful and I think one of her boobs were falling out.
MIA was actually a highlight for the show. She is an underground artist and this Grammy televised performance was an opportunity to get her name out there. She is one of the few female MCs still standing in the industry right now. MIA never wears clothes that you would look at and say hey I would rock that anyway. She always dresses very colorful and out there. I think this is the first time I have seen her only rock 2 colors

I rock my MIA cd and I don't care about the outfit, it's the being pregnant and performing that bothers me. I don't want to see that. She looks terrible.
I stopped watching music award shows a long time ago, too. I caught my girl MIA's performance in YouTube. She looked...um...interesting, but you have to hand it to her, that girl is FEARLESS in everything she does.
LOL-not going to say a word about that outfit-nor pretending/performing pregnant!

most of the people that are labeled musicians Aren't--and i don't know who they are anyway--
names i can't pronounce--music that pretty much all sounds the same--and when did musicians stop playing instruments and so-called singers stop singing?

we watched spidey 2 and superman returns-caught an alfred hitchcock then next thing i knew i was sleep! LOL
I watch award shows because it's free....and more than likely the Academy will pull Youtube clips.
Miley Cyrus singing last night was a total disaster. If she can be a singer superstar; so can any female in the world who can't sing.
Justin and TI's performance *sigh* Ready for a Justin album. I like his music; not him so much. And Robin Thicke and Lil' Wayne. Loved them. Loved "Swagger like Us"; M.I.A.'s big belly LOL "mama's always on stage"... JHud had me crying though I didn't understand the words; but she got 'caught up' at the end and God the tears were coming! She's beautiful. Radiohead I loved. It was overall an okay show.
It wasn't too bad. Like others, I was caught up in the drama that is Chris and Rihanna.
*Justin, Al, Boyz II men were good as well as Robin Thicke and Lil Wayne with others representing NO.
*Jennifer looked great.
*Whitney had me nervous for a minute.

-Duffy and Al Green singing before they presented an award.
-The tribute to Bo Diddley and the Four Tops.
-LOL Stevie with the Jonas Bros wouldn't have been too bad if all the bros could actually sing. One of them was struggling vocally and was screwing up the lyrics to the song. They seem like good guys though.
I haven't watched a Grammy show in a looooooong time!
Nor any other music awards show for that matter. I just do not find them to be interesting enough to hold my attention.
And after seeing the photo on the post-I see that my choice not too is a good one. She looks a hot mess!
