John "The Cryptkeeper" McCain and The GOP are apparently frightened of Barack Obama's fundraising capabilities. Let's all help with scaring them some more! MAKE A DONATION!!!
Obama is going to need all the cash he can muster to go visit all these predominantly white states that "claim" not to know him and to help soothe the ruffled feathers of all those Clinton supporters. He's going to need money for television ads to combat swift-boating from the GOP. And don't be fooled, this is going to be a mega battle of the future first ladies as well. Michelle Obama needs your support as well! (That's my next post, pay attention!)
Scour your car and your couches. Buy a button and a bumper sticker! Get your kids involved, teach them what a political donation is and why it's important to Obama's campaign. Host a fundraiser with your friends! The Obama campaign specializes in the small donation, it has helped him shock Hillary and it will help him get to the White House!
I still have some concerns about Obama, but he's my nominee. It's time for folks to put their money and time on the line. THAT MEANS YOU BLACK FOLKS! Make a donation, put on your t-shirt, and volunteer your time. I want to see unprecedented and unbelievable numbers of black folks DONATING, ORGANIZING, VOLUNTEERING, and VOTING in this 2008 Presidential campaign. Let's scare the Republicans for ignoring the concerns of black folks and send an additionally scary reminder to the Democrats that we will not be taken for granted this time.
And this will require an extremely important fifth element, THINKING! When you donate, let the Obama campaign know what YOU want! Write letters and send e-mails! Let them know that you are not a passive supporter. If you haven't done it already, go to website and read it! Know where he stands on the issues. Congratulate him on the things you agree with and challenge him on the things you don't. Do not support Obama and get mad later because you didn't bother to find out what he stands for! That's on you!!!!!
I believe in my heart this is going to be the nastiest Presidential campaign in American History, Obama is going to get hit with everything from the kitchen sink to Dorothy's house to prevent him from getting to the White House. I would much rather have a President that we can challenge on the issues than one that doesn't give a damn what the majority of the American people think like John McCain!
