Money's Too Tight Too Mention

President Bush says the U.S. economy is just fine. I can understand how he see things that way. Since he doesn't pay rent or a house note, he doesn't know what it's like to worry about keeping a place to stay. Since he gets driven just about everywhere, he has absolutely no idea what it is like to chose to put $5 of gas in your car instead of spending $5 dollars on lunch. He's not missing any meals, not going without health care, a new pair of shoes, or having to tell a child no to a $2 ice cream cone. He doesn't have credit card or student loan payments he can't make or late night worries about having enough money for his children's education or his personal retirement. Yes, for President Bush, the U.S. economy is just fine, he can afford blinders.

Refund Relief Or Temporary Fix?

President Bush is expected to sign an economic relief package that will grant refunds to the majority of the nation, in order to jump start the stumbling U.S. economy. Are these refunds going to help or just be a temporary band-aid on the economic problems of the U.S.? Batton Down The Hatches!

I was hoping to spend the summer travelling around the U.S.A., but it's looking like I might be spending the summer panicking with most Americans. The U.S. economy is looking truly frightening and it looks like our government has no real clue how to help its citizens. How long will it be before the media starts talking "depression" instead of "recession"?

Our Economy Is Going Down The........

The Democratic and Republican presidential candidates better get to talking real quick about what they are planning to do for the economy. Things are looking very, very, bad! Citibank lost 10 billion in three months! Countrywide Financial was saved from the brink of bankruptcy! The bill for the War in Iraq grows by the hour! Not to mention the price for gas and the current state of the housing market. This country is in debt up to its red, white, and blue neck!!!!!

I am highly concerned about the economy. I don't know if the average American can afford a serious recession period. The economy is everyone's issue, but I believe that it is a serious pressing issue for black women. Considering how many black women head households with small children, a recession could be devastating. How many African American women are truly prepared financially if they get laided off from their job, if pricing for utilities and rents rise, and the dollar covers even less than it did before?

Folks! Start paying your bills and try to save some money, it's looking like rocky roads ahead for many of us.
