Don't Believe The Hype! Hurricane Gustav Is A Convenient And Timely Excuse For Avoiding The Bush/Cheney Living Nightmare At The GOP Convention
Nobody and I mean nobody wanted to hear any speech by President George Bush or Vice-President Dick Cheney at the GOP convention. The arrival of Hurricane Gustav is an absolute blessing for the GOP and John McCain. Now, the president and the vice-president can issue short, but sweet "rah-rah" and "go team" video-taped speeches that focus on promoting McCain/Palin instead of trying to pretend his presidency has been successful.
It has been absolutely laughable that the mainstream media has failed to point out how multitudes of GOP senators, representatives, governors, and VIPs are staying away from the GOP convention in droves. Cheney himself is staying away, not because of Hurricane Gustav, he's staying away because nobody wanted him there in the first damn place.
And despite the selection of Sarah Palin, the GOP convention will still be a complete bust. Average folks aren't going to watch it and those pictures and videos of all-white crowds of people cheering on John McCain is going to make folks wonder if they are really looking at a modern day rally for the KKK.
