A Deadly Mix - One Crazy Black Mama And Two Absentee Black Baby Daddies

Washington D.C. resident, Banita Jacks is facing murder charges after leading authorities to the dead bodies of her four children. The children's bodies were so decomposed that they could not be indentified immediately. Ms. Jacks had been continuing to live in the residence with her dead children.

After reading several new reports, it is clear that Ms. Jacks' mental health maybe seriously in question and there seems to be some serious issues about the lack of involvement and interest from child welfare agencies in D.C. despite being alerted to Ms. Jacks' struggles in raising her children.

What may have put Ms. Jacks over the edge was the recent death of the father of her two youngest children. The fathers of the two older children were apparantly mssing in action and had failed to provide any kind of child support.

I find it completely mind boggling and heart-breaking that four children, ages 5 to 17, could go missing from the public eye for over two weeks and NOBODY wondered what happened to them. Four little girls, just gone and forgotten.

In an interesting note, Ms. Jacks and her children resided in a house that is located in the city’s poorest ward that former mayor and now city council member Marion Barry represents.

I heard about this story yesterday. How can u live in a house with 4 dead bodies (your children nonetheless) and go about ur daily activities as if they don't exist? The woman was obviously disturbed. But where was the family? I find it incredibly sad that they were dead for two weeks b/f anyone noticed.

To call this story heartbreaking would be an understatement. How could you live with yourself knowing that you killed your own kids?

Wow, Marion Barry went from being Mayor to City Councilman??!

This woman was definitely in need of some serious psychiatric intervention.

see, so many things ran through my mind when i heard this yesterday on cnn.
it is obvious that she has some mental issues that run very deep-(praying for the sister).
to be in a home with 4 dead bodies living with the stench of rot is unthinkable!
this is so sad...
i know more will come out as they uncover details.

i have no comment about m.barry. there is really no need for me to give up my breath over his life.
(prayed for him long ago)

it is just more evil running to and fro!

Investigators now believe that the children had been dead for months.
According to today's Washington Post, the family's troubles began when the father of two of the girls died of cancer early last year. The mother became increasingly distant and eventually stopped answering calls or visits from friends and family. After a while everyone thought she had moved, since no one was make contact with them. My guess is that she most likely went through a sort of mental breakdown after the death of the father, and could never quite get it together again.

This is my first time hearing about this case, and it sickens me to hear of this tragedy. I wish I knew the correct spelling of the grunts and moans older women in my family would make upon hearing sad, sad news. I can't spell out those sounds, I can only make them right now.

"Lordy, Lordy, Lordy."
