How Will History View Condolezza Rice?

In her last year as Secretary of State, there is major talk about the legacy Condi Rice will leave behind. What do you think that will be? Will she make major bucks on the book and lecture circuit? What job will she take next? Will she go down in history as the worst Secretary of State or will there a different reading?

Professor Tracey,

I think Condi's first problem is that she is an expert on the Soviet Union. And as you know, the Soviet Union doesn't exist anymore. So while she would have made an excellent SoS in the 1980's she a mediocre SoS in the new century.

Also she got mixed up with the Neo-Cons. The Neo-Con foreign policy is convoluted. So she really had no mandate as SoS for the Neo-Cons.

Ultimately I think Condi has been supremely ineffective. What has she accomplished? Not much.

With that said she has a bright future, whether she goes back to Stanford University or chooses to go after her dream job as commissioner of the NFL.

I completely agree, I belive she is going to get savaged by history. As my mom says, she stayed at the fair four years too long!
