Is Roger Clemens Getting A Free Pass?

I've been amused and angered at how much of the sports media and many baseball fans seem to be working overtime to grant a pass to Roger "B-12" Clemens and the other baseball players named in the Mitchell report. Considering the huge amount of nasty venom leveled at Barry Bonds, you would think these guys would be running for cover from the criticism, but there has been nowhere near the same amount of backlash.

There always seems to be a different set of rules. Where is Mark McGwire? Let's put an asterisk on that single home run record baseball of his! I hope Marc Ecko has more money to throw away to by all those Cy Young Awards that may need an asterisk as well.

Roger Clemens is going to be on 60 Minutes tonight.

I don't like Barry Bonds or Roger Clemens, but the proof is in the pudding.

MLB was all set to sling Barry under that bus, until it came to light that golden boy Clemens was juicing, too. Then everyone wanted to discredit the Mitchell Report, yada, yada, yada.

Why was Clemens given a whole month to come up with his excuse for dirty tests, and be given a "60 minutes" slot in order to provide his excuses.

Barry Bonds wasn't given that avenue - and now I'm hoping he gets off scot free, given the royal excuses the media is giving Clemens.

Stevie Wonder could see that when he threw that broken bat at Mike Piazza in the World Series back in 2000, the boy was in the midst of 'roid rage.

I noticed he's not suing Jose Canseco for outing him in his book "Juiced", however - and noticed Canseco's testimony was verified when everyone he alleged were juicing all came back testing positive for steroids, because he was giving them the shots, including Clemens.

I'm reading that Mitchell Report right now, and they got Clemens dead to rights.

Bonds obviously courts more loyal friends than Clemens - a few of them are in jail right now for refusing to turn state's evidence on him. Which is more than the Mitchell Report says for Clemens.

Perhaps righteous brothas like Jim Rice can take their rightful place in the HOF, since they were being pushed aside by juicing freaks like Clemens and Bonds...

MDC -

I missed the interview, but I hope someone puts it up on you tube.

Christian Progressive Liberal -

I could not agree more. I loved baseball when I was kid and it just makes me sick now. I don't care if the athlete is black or white, cheating is cheating!
