Toni Morrison Endorses Barack Obama

Author Toni Morrison would gave former President Bill Clinton the "first black president label" has endorsed Barack Obama over Hillary Clinton. She remarks about her choice;

"In addition to keen intelligence, integrity and a rare authenticity, you exhibit something that has nothing to do with age, experience, race or gender and something I don't see in other candidates,"

"That something is a creative imagination which coupled with brilliance equals wisdom. It is too bad if we associate it only with gray hair and old age. Or if we call searing vision naivete. Or if we believe cunning is insight. Or if we settle for finessing cures tailored for each ravaged tree in the forest while ignoring the poisonous landscape that feeds and surrounds it.

"Wisdom is a gift; you can't train for it, inherit it, learn it in a class, or earn it in the workplace — that access can foster the acquisition of knowledge, but not wisdom."

i like toni morrison....
i think it takes a great amount of courage for her to speak what is truth in her life.
no matter whether we agree or not...the point is, she does not give a flying pig whether anyone agrees with her or not..
LOL.. i admire that..
and i like her words at the end :D

and i just want to say this....be ready for all this election/voting to come out this way...obama is pres and edwards is vice.

i'm not endorsing this way or any other grouping of these people--i'm just saying....

Unduly, Toni has been blamed for inducting Bill Clinton as the "first black president." With careful reading (actually it doesnt require critical thinking)to understand that Toni was operating as a social commentator for the voices of specificly black men who felt that Bill's impeachment ordeal was a bonafide, authentic black male experience wherein: “No matter how smart you are, how hard you work, how much coin you earn for us, we will put you in your place or put you out of the place you have somehow, albeit with our permission, achieved. You will be fired from your job, sent away in disgrace, and—who knows?—maybe sentenced and jailed to boot. In short, unless you do as we say (i.e., assimilate at once), your expletives belong to us.”

Yes, right or wrong, blacks and whites associate "single-parent household, born poor, working-class, saxophone-playing, McDonald’s-and-junk-food-loving" realties as being distinctively black experiences. But more than any so called pathological behaviors, blacks, men and women, sympathized with Clinton's situation in that it represented the ruling class' tight grip on one's "self" and Toni is pointing out the extent to which they will go, even if it means breaking constitutional laws, to ensure that marginalized people do not get out of hand.
