American Citizens Are Being Incarcerated In Record-Breaking Numbers!
The Pew Center has released a new report making a shocking assessment of the escalating trend of incarceration in the United States. Apparently, the United States is locking up record numbers of its own citizens and spending billions of dollars to maintain jailed Americans in that prison system. The statistics are downright shocking, particuarly when one observes the statistics by racial groups. For example, one in 30 men between the ages of 20 and 34 is behind bars, for black males in that age group the figure is one in nine and one of every 355 white women aged 35 to 39 is behind bars, compared with one of every 100 black women in that age group. This is very scary and depressing!!!!!!

when you add the fact that the penal system is also in some instances "privatized", we come back to america's hardest habit to kick---free labor.
you are right, it is depressing. i don't think it is accidental either.

also Professor if you google concentration camps in america you will see there are a lot more detention centers being built. the sites keep getting pulled and re-posted though. so, even more people will be incarcerated before it is all said and done, i believe. i would be interested to know your thoughts.
i am planning to blog on the north american union, the spp, and the amero soon. i just have other things in my spirit right now. i haven't seen any of this in the black blogoshpere, yet. it is all over the place in the white blog world. there is also a movie zeitgeist, that is slated for release in the spring.

I'm not one who is prone to believe every study that comes out about us. We need to challenge these studies sometimes. Why do we believe them verbatim?
I STRONGLY AGREE MISS DEUX , BUT BLACK MEN REALLY NEED TO STOP THE IGNORANCE .

Look you can thank Regans "War on Drugs" (also known as the war on black men) for the lock ups. Something like 85% of folk imprisoned are locked up for non-violent drug offenses.
And the only reason why more blacks are locked up is because poor black neighborhoods are profiled in a way poor white neighborhoods are not.
That and black folks (males in particular) get time for things that white folks get probation for.
So Black men "can stop the ignorance" all they want too and still end up locked up more than their white counterparts.
But as more whites start coming in contact with the prison system (thing meth and other designer drugs) you'll see a softening of the laws 'cause while Tyrone was a super predator and needed to locked up for his small amount of crack/cocaine to protect the community, Johnny ws just a mis guided kid who started his Meth Lab to pay for school since his family couldn't afford to send him and really just deserves another chance.
