Are The Democratic Candidates Hurting Their Chances?

As the final decision for a democratic nominee for the 2008 President election grows closer, I am beginning to wonder if the Democrats are starting to hurt their overall chances to reclaim the White House. All the sniping and whining, not to mention failing completely in terms of dealing with issues of race as well as gender, the Democrats are not really looking ready for the long haul. What do you think?

YES I think that they are hurting their chances, because the democratic electorate is getting so polarized, that it looks like half of them might stay home out of spite if their candidate doesn't win.

People really need to look at the bigger picture.

I agree. I was listening to progressive talk radio this afternoon and folks are definitely taking sides in an ugly way that I haven't seen before. I think part of it can be attributed to unexamined racism and sexism within the Democratic party. Listening to some of the reasons folks are giving for disliking Obama or Clinton seem a little grounded in bias.

Could all of this divisive politics only be a "ploy" by the establishment to force upon us to except the so called "dream ticket?"

I am not cynical by nature but, if when all of this is said and done and it ends up being Obama/Clinton or Clinton/Obama I will not be surprised one little bit.
