Must See Movie - City Of Men

If you never saw the film, City of God or the extended cable television series City of Men, you have missed a great study of street life in the hard slums of Brazil. Both are available to rent on Netflix. The sequel to the acclaimed series and film, City of Men will be released today in select theaters. Check it out!!!! The film also features a particularly tasty bit of Brazilian eye candy, actor and model Jonathan Haagensen, featured in the photo below. Hot...Hot...Hot!!!!!

I saw City of God and loved it. It gave me quire a perspective on life in the ghetto's of Brazil. I checked the documentary in the DVD and it was a real eye-opener on the raise of the gangs and the black forgotten underclass.

I loved City of Men, the TV series. I hated the sub title translation of the film, translating Aracola and Laranjihna has Ace and Wallace. Although Laranjihna's name is Wallace, Aracola and Laranjihna translate into Small Black Cherry and Little Orange or Tangerine. It fit them.
I found an interesting article on Roberta Rodrigues AKA Poderosa (Power Girl) on Black Actresses and Actors in Brazil, their civil rights battles and victories.
