21 And Life To Go

Meet Demario James Atwater, he has been arrested for murdering UNC Chapel Hill student body president Eve Carson. He is just 21 years old. His partner in this senseless crime has been arrested as well and that guy is only 17. Atwater is clearly not a particularly bright criminal, he has been strolling around Durham, North Carolina wtih Ms. Carson's ATM card, trying to use it.

Well, if Mr. Atwater wanted to be a gangster, he has hit the big time now. He has alledged committed the right crime with right kind of victim, he will be lucky to ever see daylight again. The Soul On Ice Effect is definitely clear here in this case, both Mr. Atwater and his partner in crime were on parole for previous crimes. And just think, Reverend Al Sharpton wants bail for the Dunbar Village rape suspects. Frightening!

I saw a picture of the 17 year old accused in this case. Do you know that little piece of shit had to be taken into custody by a SWAT Team?

I am completely disgusted and if the Death Penalty is on the table, I'm not sure how I'd decide their punishment.

I do know that both should remain incarcerated in Maximum Security facilities for the rest of their lives.

Professor Tracey,

The 17 year old is a sociopath. He was also charged in the slaying of a Duke University graduate student.

lock them up-lock them all up and if they are in jail(guilty) keep them locked up!

girl, these 2 have been all over chapel hill and durham trying to use that atm card...don't they know you need the pin # to do that with! not many places let you swip without the number.
sad, sad, 21 & 17 yrs. old and they are gone--life on the outside is over!
what a shame. humph-moving on...
i don't think they caught the other guy yet! but his face is plastered over everything--it will not be long.
Denita Smith was gunned down at her apt. by another black woman over a man.
smith is dead and she was also on the high road to making changes in this world just as carson was.
her killer is in jail and that is a very sad sotry. the woman that killed her has children left behind with family members i guess.
but over some raggy-ass man- a cop who works for greensboro dept. i still think he had more to do with this than they are saying.

then you have Latrese Curtis- her body was found along the shoulder of I-40(going toward raleigh)
one morning about a month ago. she was on her way home from classes (both of these young women were NCCU students in durham, nc)
they had a suspect in her murder, but we have heard anything else about it since then.
i have sent emails to the police, the tv stations asking about any updates and why is this not broadcasted on radio and tv? of course no responses have been sent to me. so i'll just keep sening emails and phone calls--they think i won't walk up in there with my questions--yes i will.

just keeping the people up to date on the goings-on around here.
thank prof tracey for the updates on the carson case. i bet she would be doing all she could to help alert the public about the NCCU students.
but being that you have lived here-and all these schools are in the UNC-chain- you know the tangles that exist between these schools.

@blkseagoat-i did not know that, i have not given much time to reading these 2 histories.
thanks for the info.
ohh was it the graduate student that was a guy--the..oh Lord, what is his name, he was killed a few weeks ago by a group of black men-boys?

if so, i remember bits of that--another senseless killing. if that is the guy you are talking about--he was a good person.

They should both fry.

Yeah, when I read that the 17 yo was also implicated in killing another student, I just shook my head. It's like they're just losing their minds at an earlier and earlier age.

I saw the mother of the guy he was arrested for killing the Auburn student on tv apologizing. I know the news media probably hounded her down, but I'm not sure I'd be apologizing for the actions of a grown ass man. Than again, if my son shot somebody, maybe I would.

All this violence to college students. More and more I'm starting to wonder if they don't need gun permits. It's like they're being taken out like sitting ducks.
