It's Time For Obama And His Supporters To Get Real And Get Tough

I think Barack Obama has a strong chance to become the next President of the United States, but he needs to step up his game and right now. It time for more than pretty speeches. He needs to start talking about SPECIFIC issues and he really needs to become more AGGRESSIVE about going after Hillary Clinton and John McCain. He needs to show that he has a plan. He needs to show that he has a voice that can truly lead the American people. U.S. Presidental politics is a serious game and you need more than hope to become a real campaign winner.

And Barack Obama's supporters really need to step their game up as well. Stop whining about Obama's skin color being darken in commericals and all the other slights and slurs that have been directed at Obama because those things are not going to stop anytime soon. If Barack Obama is the Democratic nominee, we are going to experience presidental political campaign racism like we have never witnessed in American history. I am tired of telling folks to get ready for that.

If you are supporting Obama start posting on your blogs what he stands for and how he will change the country. Stop promoting that HOPE campaign crap. Obama has people for that. Start helping people understand the REAL issues. Start critiquing his opponents political views and backgrounds. Start pointing out how if his opponents are elected how they will harm the country. Do something productive.

Start a blog. Start volunteering for his campaign. Make a donation. Hell, I've made a donation and I haven't even had the chance to vote in a primary yet. I have posted more on Obama's campaign than some folks that act like diehard supporters. If Obama is to gain the nomination he needs a big push and he needs it now. And then...the real work begins.

He's trying to run a positive campaign that's the antithesis of the attack/slander mode. It's admirable but he's gonna get buried if he doesn't do something. I'm not sure what though, but I'm not a strategist. he's done amazingly well considering.

I plan to take your advice with regards to blogging about why I support him. I also will look into volunteering.

He's definitely gonna have to be tough. He's also gotta stop leaving himself open to scrutiny (i.e., NAFTA-gate).

I wonder, can he still afford to care about being looked at as an ABM?

You should post this on Barack's website.

SMH.

The willingness of folk to buy into media generated hype never ceases to amaze me.
