Operation Safe Passage

There have been so many students killed by violence in the last two years in the Chicago school system, the police, parents, and other community leaders have started escorting students to school each day. The new program is called "Operation Safe Passage." It's a damn shame that kids who want to go to school can't get there without escorts and it's a further damn shame that parents still don't feel their kids are safe even with the escorts. Black folk need to start working hard to turn this around now, we have at least two entire generations that are in desperately serious jeopardy.

this reminds me of a story from ny i believe, when parents where buying their children vests to wear as they went to school....i do believe it was ny. some people started shooting at the kids, or at other people near the children...

bullet proof vests to go to school in....to learn...
sigh...

Operation Safe Passage?

This is disturbing on so many levels....

I'll continue to watch for this in the news.
