Barack Obama Wins The Democratic Presidential Nomination!
"Tonight we mark the end of one historic journey with the beginning of another," ... "Tonight, I can stand before you and say that I will be the Democratic nominee for president of the United States"
"The journey will be difficult. The road will be long. I face this challenge with profound humility, and knowledge of my own limitations. But I also face it with limitless faith in the capacity of the American people."

So now we know what we knew back in February?
This is so underwhelming.
Shirley Chisholm, Frederick Douglass, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and others set the stage. Barack Obama took it to the next level.
Today we are all proud as both African Americans and Americans...

Point well made, T.S.

Hi Professor Tracey!
Are you kidding... Barack using the slogan 'unbought and unbossed"??
He has shown us what his slogan is:
"Butt kissin' and behavin'!"
{chuckles}
Lisa
Professor Tracey, you said: "Shirley would be proud. Barack should heed and remember her campaign slogan - "Unbought and Unbossed!"
Professor Tracey---it is too late for that it seems. he has his corporate sponsors and he is going out of his way to keep them happy. he seems to be both bought and bossed. unlike Queen Chisholm, i don't think we will hear him say, as she did in her documentary from the Chisholm trail, "wish we had more money".
as soon as his spine grows in and he starts using it, i will humbly change my p.o.v. in fact, i would be happy to change my mind. there just hasn't been anything to cause me to do that just yet.
blessings,
focusedpurpose
Barbara Jordan and Fannie Lou Hamer would be proud.
