The NBA Players Roundtable Begins
How many NBA teams will have a different look next season? The ultra competitive Western Conference may become even tougher. The Golden State Warriors are facing losing their superstar, Baron Davis and the L.A. Clippers are in the difficult position of losing their two best players, Elton Brand and Corey Maggette. Considering the rumor that Brand and Davis are both trying to be Clippers and the team has the money to sign them both, L.A. would be a stacked town indeed with two extremely competitive NBA teams.
The L.A. Lakers will be trying to keep the core of their bench together, betting on the fact that they already have a championship caliber team that just needs to mature and get tougher. Teams should pay close attention to one of the dumbest judges of NBA talent in the league, Michael Jordan. He is getting ready to dump one of the Charlotte Bobcats best players, Gerald Wallace. Watch some team pick this guy up and turn him into an all-star.
Other than Gilbert Arenas, the current list of free agents is not that much, but you never know what will happen. The way things are shaping up, a select few NBA players are going to get monstrously overpaid to switch teams or to stay with their current teams.

i am really hoping that baron davis ends up with the los angeles clippers. he may even try and latch on with the lakers, although i don't see how they'd work it out salary-wise.
i don't know what michael jordan is thinking...
Even with the Gilbert Arenas offers of $100 mil plus, I really wondered if he deserved it. But I understand the business of basketball - it's not always about the skills, it's also about putting folks in the seats.
