Condolences to his family. Please read his book or watch the lecture on you-tube! It's a wonderful lecture about what is most important in life.

Professor Tracey, this is a very sad case indeed! A young man in the prime of life, who is so well aware of the value of LIFE,
didn't have to be cut down like that.
I've heard Dr. Gary Null, the health educator, say many times that Dr. Nicholas Gonzalez, in New York has had many successes treating Pancreatic Cancer.
Patrick Swayze, who also has pancreatic cancer,
is reported to be getting better (despite the fact that he continues to smoke.)

Is it possible that Randy Pausch, despite all he knew about life, took what his doctors said as a death sentence, and gave up too easily?
My condolences to the Pausch family , and the world
for our great loss!

No, I believe that when he was first discovered to have cancer, that it was in the extremely late stage. Some people are unlucky that way. He was a fighter until the end. I believe he was told he had 4 months, I think he lived 2 years past that.
