Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick Needs An Intervention.....Yesterday!
What in the hell was the Da' Hip Hop Mayor thinking? If John Edwards is persona non-grata at the Democratic convention, what in the hell made him think that his second-rate scandal ridden behind would be welcomed either? This dude is severely delusional and needs an intervention. Kilpatrick just does not seem to understand that he is an embarrassment, Obama's people should not have had to tell him to stay away.

Hi.
There have been local business, political and church leaders who have met with the prosecutor to try to work a deal. There have been other big shots who have come out calling for his resignation.
But as you say, Kilpatrick is delusional. He may not think that he did much wrong , outside of getting caught cheating. Also I simply can't overstate the level of racial hatred and disdain here in SE Michigan. Although resigning is the correct thing to do, Kilpatrick may not wish to be forced into it, especially by people outside of the City of Detroit.
It's getting hard to keep track of all his court dates but this morning I think he's back in court for formal charges on the assault case.
Also Christine Beatty's attorney is sending hints to the prosecutor about getting Christine to testify.

So with all this going on maybe Kilpatrick will see the light. The GOP is already starting to use this against Obama.
