Make Em Say UNGGGGGGH (UNGGGGGGH) Na-nah na-nah (na-nah na-nah) To Master P Launching A Television Network For Black Folks
I love the entrepreneurial spirit of Master P, it's his artistic taste and talent I question. I am completely horrified that he is starting a new cable channel. The name itself is a damn problem. Why can't black folks just have a channel without the word "black" included in it?

Why are you horrified. He has been making a concerted effort to clean up media, music , etc. marketed to African Americans. Can we at least give him credit for that, even though the name "Black" is in the title of his channel?
What effort is that? And to be frank isn't he cleaning up the mess helped create? And I'm not sure he has the talent or the ideas to not repeat the same mistakes. You can take away the sexism and the nasty language and still fail. I don't want to see G rated Ghetto Superman movies. If he means quality programming that is something, I'm going to have to see to believe.
Just because he's not loaded up with degrees doesn't mean he's not able to provide quality programming to African Americans. Looking at how his son has turned out tells me a lot about who he is as a person now. I'll keep the faith.
It may be a little optimistic of me but I think it could turn out to be something good. Maybe he does have good ideas and a vision. Let's not cut him down before he even gets started.
What he is going to show reruns of the Lil Romeo show, I Got the Hookup and Bout it, Bout it?
The quality of black entertainment has just gone down, parents should just turn the TV off and take a trip to the library.
@jewelry rockstar -
Who said he had to be loaded with degrees? I never questioned his intellect, so I'm not quite sure why you made that remark.
Further, as I stated clearly before, Master P's records, videos, and movies are the only representation of his TASTE that I have and I don't think he has produced any thing of quality that includes the career of Lil' Romeo.
And Better Black Television is a DUMB name for a channel period. Doesn't show a lot of creativity or imagination and that's just the name. What's next the better black sitcom, the better black news, or the better black sports show?
Matter of fact, what exactly is "better black" in the first damn place?
@Rox,
I'm cutting anyone down, I'm asking questions. Something black people need to do more often.
We never asked questions about BET and look how that turned out. TV One is okay, but that network needs to be asked a few questions about it's programming as well.
Black folks need to stop waiting and seeing and be more pro-active before we get saddled with something else that may be problematic for us.
You're right PT. I noticed he has Will Smith and Denzel Washington as advisors, but where are the Black women? There should be a diverse group of executives, educators and mental health professionals advising on establishing a viable network. It should absolutely be vetted.
