One New Show That Professor Tracey WILL NOT Be Watching - CNN's D.L. Hughley Breaks The News

I will always remember that bullshit this Dummy Lamont said during the Imus scandal. Fuck him and fuck his new show. Boycott that bitch!

*stands and applauds*

Bravo!

Who would want to watch this man's show?

Was every other black comedian in the nation busy or something, why did CNN choose this joker? Can't stand his smug ass.

There's a Gallup type poll out that stated the show had a 73% unfavorable rating - so not to worry it will be gone soon enough. I want to know who the advertisers are though.

What did he say? I missed that scandal.

Kit - Right after Imus made the comments about the Rutgers basketball players and pissed people off, Hughley went on Jay Leno and defended Imus. He said the women were "some of the ugliest" he'd ever seen in his life. It's on YouTube. He's beyond a tool. Also there was a bit of a dustup on What About Our Daughters that got Gina dragged into the mix. You can go to her site and check it out as well. Anyway, he's an idiot and not funny let alone insulting to Black women. By the way he only (barely) has a GED and he had the nerve to be dissing college students. The show doesn't air until tomorrow but it already gets a FAIL.

I did not like his comments, but I will be watching his show. DL has keen insight on issues and he's funny.

DL Hughley can feast on deze nutts. His show will tank...

Thanks for the tip, Faith. I could have googled but I was swamped.

First, if DLH didn't know who Imus was, I hope he had the good sense to fire his agent for setting him one the most vicious racist haters in radio & TV.

Second, he missed an opportunity to tell Imus that he wouldn't date the ugly women his [Imus]family either. That would have been funny - especially Imus' reaction, and somehow diluted what he said about the Rutgers players.

His real fait accompli was naming a specific womens basketball team with the wording, 'nappy headed hoes'. I saw where he apologized for the ho part. It was a dumb joke that fell flat, and I wonder if it hadn't been said, how the public would perceive him.

DLH never appealed to me a lot in general b/c early in his career, he did a lot of jokes at the expense of members in his audience. Hell, I wondered why he was still breathing after hearing some of the stuff he said. But some of his skits are hilarious.

I'll check out his show. I check out everything at least twice, almost as a rule, including Greer's. I guess it comes from my Dad's "show me" mentality being from the Show Me state, and it takes a lot for me to completely write off someone.

I can barely watch CNN now.

Yeah, we can go ahead and start the D.L. Hughley DeathWatch for his show right now...

Prof. Tracey - I'd love to know what you and the rest of your faithful readers think of Grier's "Chocolate News"?!?! I was really unimpressed (why is he dragging that old Maya Angelou impersonation out from the 80s?)

I think producers must still be reeling over the loss of Chapelle's Show because every mediocre black comic is getting a show!

I was in a cigar bar when D.L.'s show came on so I was stuck watching it and of course it stunk to high heaven!! He was un-funny and stiff. I might have to turn it to "Chocolate News" instead. At least David Allen Grier KNOWS he is not being taken seriously.

DAG and DL are adequate.
As claudia notes, the best political humor was from Chapelle. Chapelles's humor wasn't limited to every Black stereotype (although he did make good use of them when needed).
If we think this is bad, wait until Obama is elected. Every network will be racing to find their next-gen Black authority.

I watched a little of it and can you say DRY? Dry, dry, dry. The audience barely laughed at his corny azz jokes and he looked like hot shyt on toast.

CNN signed him on for a year but I don't think it'll last that long.
