Exactly! Amazing how Sarah Palin hasn't had to answer to any issues regarding failing schools, failing cities...how about recovery in New Orleans? Immigration? Wages? She's getting such a pass and so is McCain.

I think the debates should have a panel of journalists from various media outlets and each get to ask a few questions.

But its not only answering questions its about getting out there also. I was having a discussion with a few co workers and even though we know the answer, I still threw it out, Why are they (Republicans) not campaigning in places that have a huge minority populations. Again, I know the answer, but my thing is this, you're suppose to be the party that was against slavery. Why not hit up Prince George County, MD or ATL with powerful and influential African Americans to seek their vote. Whether you get it or not, at least ACT LIKE YOU'RE TRYING. Instead of completely dismissing us. I'm a Democrat but I believe they're probably more closet black Republicans out there than we think. McCain and the Republican party might be surprised at how many may be feelin' what he has to say. Hockey mom? When Palin came out with that she pretty much excluded most minority women from feeling a connection with her. She flat out catered to the white suburban mom. If she has of said soccer, football or basketball mom then yeah you got a lot of us. Or the smarter move, "I'm a working mom". I can hardly tolerate the woman. Help us all if she runs in 2012.

Tavis is on point - but you know he's thinking about himself! He wanted to be king maker with Obama and I'm sure he'd have thrown Gwen Ifill over a cliff to have taken that VP moderator spot. But it's definitely time to move on from the old white men.

Yes, McCain showed no desire to cater to minorities. Palin had a position dropped in her lap-a working mom! How many Black women live this daily? Overcoming barriers to work and provide for our families? There's been little attempt in my neighborhood to reach out. No robocalls to anyone I work with, no Joe the Plumber-Joe Six Pack-Average Joe attempt...not even mailings. They don't need our support. They don't have an agenda they want us to support. I was surprised no mention by McCain of ALL the honorable minority men/women who are fighting in the wars and military? Every attempt has been done to do the opposite...separate us from everything, remove us as viable resources, further alienate us because they believe we aren't a part of the country that matters.
