What Is Your Favorite Scene From A Christmas Story?
Mine is when the family is in the Chinese restaurant and the waiters are trying to sing holiday songs - "Deck the halls with boughs of horry, ra ra ra ra ra, ra ra ra ra." And the restaurant owner sees the horrified look on the family's face and shouts - "No, no, not 'ra ra ra ra', 'la la la la'! Try again." The waiters respond with - "Deck the halls with boughs of horry, ra ra ra ra ra, ra ra ra ra." Cracks me up every time!

Call me a foreigner who doesn't understand the magic of American 'history,' but I didn't really get this movie. So my favorite scene was the end credits and the knowledge that i would not have to see it ever again :)
I thought of this scene when I was learning Japanese. LOL
I loved that scene and I loved when he was beating up the kid and was, I guess, cussing, LOL.
My son hasn't learned the joy of "A Christmas Story" but I'll try to teach him again this year.
I love "A Christmas Story" - we probably end up watching it at least two or three times every year.
My favorite scene would probably have to be when Ralphie and his dad are changing the flat tire and he blurts out, "oh fudge"...!
or,
when he decodes the crappy Ovaltine message while the family is outside banging on the door...
oh no - wait,
when the leg lamp "accidentally" breaks...
The movie is so hilarious. I can't decide.
I love this movie. We watch it several times around this time of year.

I loved them all. However I have two. The first being the one that you have posted. When they're outside "double-dog" daring old boy to stick his tongue on that cold azz pole LOL. And my other favorite one is when the family is sitting around the table and the youngest brother is snorting like a pig while he's eating mash potatos. The mother is cracking up and I die everytime!
I also love it when the Bupkus' dogs chase pops in his own house!
The "major award" the dad wins is so hilarious. Also, when Ralphie day dreams that he's gone blind due to "soap poisoning." It just goes on and on. I really love this movie.
So many hilarious scenes in this movie that it is hard to pick a favorite.
I always fall out when the Bumpus'
dogs bust in the house and eat the Christmas turkey and the brilliant Darrin McGavin picks up the remnants of the turkey carcass looking like he is on the verge of tears...
