Bert Adams - Master Sculptor

Just a quick shout-out to master sculptor, Bert Adams. Adams dropped a line to claim his work I posted in my new regular showcase postings entitled "Is This Art?" Here is the original post. I thought to pay Mr. Adams back, I would show another one of his most recent sand sculptures from the annual Texas Sandfest.

this is great pt!
i saw his commment on the last post with his work.
absolutly amazing--the skill and patience involved to do this--i'm an artist in a different medium--and painting takes a lot of time and patience-as i paint large canvases-but what he does--WHEW!!
hats off!

i wonder if he could do one of ObamaBaby? that would be cool if it really looked like him...

BRAVO!! to you mr Adams!! BRAVO!

Again: wow. It's hard not to be impressed by the time and talent involved here. I hope Mr. Adams will comment again and tell us a little more about his process? Or how he became involved in this kind of artwork?

I'm assuming he did a little more than add water to the sand and pack it in a plastic bucket - which is what I have always been told to do! LOL.

Until your last post, I hadn't heard of him. I am definitely a huge fan.

Well Thank You Prof. Tracey.
I didn't expect you to post my name and such.
I see you found a photo from this years Texas Sand Fest.
I had taken 3 years off from sand sculpture to have two sons. And wanted to do this piece. I only get to do a couple of contests a year now days. Since this one didn't have any real emotion in it, (I was a bit slow after two years). I did the same basic piece at the World Championship in Harrison Hot Springs BC Canada. There the child's face is screaming, and the goal was to capture that first moment of delivery.
I got close, but I think I still missed it.

Keep Smiling,
Bertrum
