The Struggle Continues - Transit Cop Murders Black Man On BART Train

The murder of that young brother on the BART train is a damn shame and black people should be pissed, but I'm with Ta-Nehisi Coates on this one. Black folks should get equally pissed at the fact we are murdering each other at alarming rates. It's time for everyone to put on their grown-up undies and stop giving a pass to our people for doing dumb ass stuff that hurts us all.

I am upsetand enraged over this trust me. But these people who say I'm some sort of uncle Tom for not mobilizing for war can lick my ass. Again the simple reason is we don't seem to get outaged over at AT our own young (hell even older like parents) men and women for the abuse, drug dealing, promiscuity, utter nihilism and out and out MURDER committed every damn day. Negroes have killed, abused, brought into this world under odious circumstances etc. likely ten times that of the NYPD, LAPD and the Klan combined in the last 30 years, and no one gets all outraged about that. Naw, that's Mr. Charlie's and Missy Anne's fault. Lord.

And yes, I'll say it: about 50% of these cop murderers can be stopped if crazy Negroes weren't out there doing dirt. Yes, there will always be bloodthirsty racist cops, or trigger happy BLACK cops. But their job is made that much easier b/c of the lunatics of our own kind out there...

PS oppose Bob Johnson's bid for yet another TV channel's cable bandwidth.

I totally agree with you! We've been ignoring this for far too long and it has to end.

Some black people can and will tolerate everyone else but they hate each other.

All of this killing is equal to black genocide whether they like it or not.

This lowers the quality of life of every inhabitant who lives in a predominately black community.

Forget about being politically correct and ultra-sensitive, we need to speak the truth!

We need to attack this in the same ferocity as we do white on black crime.

There is nothing normal about hearing gun fire and pleas for help and then ignoring them .

There is nothing normal about being raped and assaulted and then failing to report it to law enforcement. We have to be better than this!

I disagree. One has nothing to do with the other. Police officers (bart or otherwise)shooting an unarmed person in cold blood and crime (period) are not the same and I will not be led to the same anger at both. I am upset with all crime. White on white, latino on latino, black on black etc. I am more angry at police (bart or otherwise)on unarmed people crime.

Did you read Coates article, because your comment is really missing the point. Some horrific black on black crime stats were release last week to the sound of crickets from the black community, but everyone gets up and arms over the murder of a black man by a white police officer. I think that contradiction is great and scary.
And white folks and latinos are not killing each other like black people are.

I beg to differ. White folk kill with white folk at a much larger rate because their are so many more of them. Asians kill asians at a much higher rate but the majority of those crimes go unreported for fear of both the criminals and INS. The same goes for the latino population with rape, molestation and murder. I don't think I am missing the point, I think my anger is greatest when crime is committed by those who "protect and serve". Black on Black crime is a huge problem but police (bart and otherwise) has been a blight on this society for as long as there have been people who are not white in this country.

@Cinque -

Then I have no idea the point you're trying too make then. I find it interesting that when the topic is about black folks taking responsibility for themselves, someone comes along talking about other folks that have nothing to do with it.

Black folks have a smaller population,. so it's okay if we kill each other? That doesn't make sense. I can guarantee that at least three black men died the same day this unfortunate young man was murder, but with the exception that they were killed by another black man.

The circus this BART shooting will become, should be the same circus that comes every time one black person murders another. Love Thy Neighbor has been around a lot longer than Protect and Serve.

I go back to my first point. One has nothing to do with the other. I am more angry at a police officer sworn to "protect and serve" shooting someone in cold blood than I am at statistics that pointing out how bad our race is over another. That is who they are comparing the numbers to....other folk. Other folks do count when you are talking about numbers and crime. I love all my, white, asian and latino. I am just as mad at black crime as I am about any other crime. With the example you just gave not only were the 3 black men killed that night but there 5 latinos killed by latinos, 7 asians by asians and 12 whites by whites. You said we should be just as angry at the numbers...I am more angry at the police action.

@Cinque -

And I will go back to what I said before, you're missing the point of my post in the first place. I don't think you read the Coates piece attached to this post, so we are having two different discussions.

And that is okay. Your point of view really has nothing to do with the point I'm trying to make. I agree with your view,. but as I said it had nothing to do with the point I was making in the post.

I stand by this, if the black preachers, politicians, activists,. and regular black folk can get all up in arms over a police shooting, they should have the same response to black folks killing each other over nothing. It's contradictory and hypocritical otherwise.

Thanks for the discussion.

If missunderstood what you were saying, I apologize for wasting so much space. I enjoy your blogg and it one of my favorites.
Thank you.

No apologizes necessary. Your point was right and well taken. One day maybe everyone will care about everyone.
