Lol, Bilbo Baggins Daddy :) Maybe he is confident and treats these women like real people instead beautiful women who are meant to be seen and not heard. I only say that because I have a friend (gorgeous)dating a guy that is not ummm, friendly on the eyes. Great guy though and treats her very well. Who knows about Rushdie.
He has access to worlds that Justin Timberfake and Crazy Kanye don't.

Anyways, I might have to disagree in that it's probably money/connections/clout that gets him those types of women. Sort of like a high-priced escort service or the faux-riches some hip-hop acts portray in videos/music. Otherwise, he'd more than likely be by himself as I'm sure those types of women aren't THAT dumb.

You can hire anyone to show up anywhere with you today. It doesn't really mean anything. Carey Grant (showing how far back this goes) was a male escort for rich ladies back in the day. He wasn't the only male actor to do this before he got famous.

I guess when I think about it, I'm more surprised women are still pushing up on, say, Charlie Sheen or R. Kelly--two ostensibly handsome assholes--than Salman Rushdie.
Some women just don't care.

Women are more apt to overlook unfortunate looking men then the men would if the woman was plain or ugly. You will rarely see a handsome man with an ugly woman--the madaonna exception aside since she is a billionaire. Ugly men appreicate Male entitlement and can capitalize on pulling better looking women. Imagine a Salman Rushdie women attempting to pull handsome goodlooking men--it would never happen.
i don't know, compared to rush limbaugh, rushdie is a hot catch.
