A Rant In Three Parts: Part One - Why It Doesn't Matter A Damn That Conservative Radio Host Tammy Bruce Called First Lady Michelle Obama "Trash"

First, Fuck Tammy Bruce. She doesn't matter. I had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Bruce a few days ago, she's smart, funny, and attractive woman. With that said, she's also an asshole. She gets paid a lot of money to be that and she's good at it. She doesn't care what folks think and she doesn't care about the anger or pain her comments may cause other people.

That's not part of her political or professional agendas and it's also not how the game is played. She's either on the lecture circuit, got a new book coming out soon or working overtime to get named as one of Keith Olbermann's Worst Persons In The World. And in terms of her conservative female counterparts, she running way behind the Ann Coluters and the Laura Ingrahams of her world. She has to say something fucked up, to get caught up.

Quite frankly, this insult doesn't make any problems for black women in the world or for supporters of Michelle Obama. No black woman over the age of 21 should have any illusions about what certain kinds of folks think about us. First Lady Michelle Obama is not going to lose a wink of sleep over some low-rent smack talking by Tammy Bruce. And if "trash" is the worse thing that Michelle Obama gets called over the next four years, then she should consider herself lucky.

Truth be told, Ms. Bruce's below the belt crack is more of a problem for black Republicans and conservatives. Those folks know exactly what Michelle Obama was talking about and they also know that Michelle Obama isn't trash. Those folks know EXACTLY what Michelle Obama has accomplished and what she represents, especially to women of color in American society.

Empower yourself and send an e-mail to Michael Steele or Dr. Ada Fisher or some other prominent black Republican or conservative. Make them explain Tammy Bruce. Ask them do they agree with her and believe that First Lady Michelle Obama is trash. Ask them is this the kind of treatment that African Americans, Asians, and Latinos can expect from the Republican party and conservatives, now and in the future.

Don't get all upset and excited about Tammy Bruce. Her catty comments are calculated for the type of audience she attracts. She has to make comments like that to keep them listening and believing in the bullshit conservatism has become. How sad and pitiful is it that these folks need to believe the worst about First Lady Michelle Obama to feel better about themselves? We shouldn't get upset about this kind of stuff any longer, we should be amused, gloating, laughing, and celebrating.

In fact, we should thank Tammy Bruce. Is it wonderful to know that an educated, beautiful, and charismatic black woman like First Lady Michelle Obama has shaken conservatism to it's roots? Her "thunder" and "lightning" biceps along with her Ivy League education is just slaying them. Damn, one bad sista from Chicago's Southside bringing conservatism down to its knees. You gotta love it!
