NFL Legend John Madden Retires From Broadcasting

Football announcing won't be the same without him. Let's hope nobody gets the dumb ass idea to call Dennis Miller or Rush Limbaugh to fill his shoes. We've already been down that rocky road.

I think it's going to be Chris Collingsworth who replaces Madden.

I'm going to miss him! He reminds me of every Sunday, Monday, and Thanksgiving growing up in Chicago. I wish he had announced at the end of the next season.

Good riddance. He'd become his own brand (isn't that what the networks want)...he'd become a caricuture. I'm sick of his ass.

But yeah, why not have another gimmick. Hire Rush...Miley Cyrus...the dude rescued from the pirates.

He made the game understandable for me, and kept me awake. I used to sleep during football games.

I remember when he introduced the turducken (sp?), and even showed how it was cooked.

Lively guy, and he's proven he can be big, real big (bellied) and still live long.

I loved his announcing back in the day. But it has been clear for a long time that he needed to step aside.

Can we put in votes on other TV personalities we'd like to see announce their retirement? *cough*andyrooney*cough*
