Is It A Good Idea For Michael Jordan To Become A NBA Team Franchise Owner?
Apparently Michael Jordan is trying to purchase majority interest in the Charlotte Bobcats. While even a ravenous, brain dead zombie would be better for this team than current owner Bob Johnson, I'm not sure Michael Jordan would be much better. Kwame Brown anybody?
While Michael Jordan is arguably the greatest NBA player of all time and how great it would be to have an African American owning a NBA franchise in the state he is extremely popular in, will Jordan be a hands on or hands off owner? His decisions in his executive NBA career have been absolutely horrible. Adam Morrison anybody?
Will Jordan listen to others? Will he drive coaches and players batty? Can he put butts in seats in Charlotte? Will he be like Mark Cuban of Dallas or like Donald Sterling of the L.A. Clippers? Who knows? And that's the scary part about Michael Jordan as a potential NBA team owner. No one knows. What do ya'll think?

I live in North Carolina. I've never been to a Bobcats game, but I've have gone to a Charlotte Hornets game when they existed.
In my opinion, I think it would be good for Charlotte if Micheal becomes the owner. We don't need a new transition in the Bobcats offices. That is what will happen if we get other ownership. Mike like Larry Brown. Larry Brown knows Mike. Mike gets the final say in all the basketball operations anyway. As far as Adam Morrison...he was a very good player out of college. He was one of the best shooters in college. I would have made the same decision.
As you have seen, the Bobcats are on their way to making the playoffs for the first time.
Besides that, it would be nice to see the ownership stay in black hands and possibly into the hands of his children at some point in their life. I'm all for it.
Welcome back Prof. Missed ya girl!
Uhhh as I think about it and maybe I'm cynical I just don't think MJ is going to be a Jerry Buss or someone who consistantly looks to put winners on the court. Put it this way, he may want to win but he doesn't trust anyone more than himself. He would need to delegate and trust the process. I see him being more of a Jerry Jones without the bright ideas. Jerry does know how to use a draft pick.
As GM he didn't want to put the work in, but he wanted to be the boss. So it may be with owning the team. Now he REALLY is in charge though I'm sure Bob let him do anything he wanted to do as far as players go. But now he won't put the work in and will definitely be the one making the final decision. He better hope Larry Brown stays a long while at least.
Naw I see it a Sterling thing definitely not a Cuban.
