The Lester Street Murders - How Do Nine Black People Get Shot And No One Sees Who Did It?

I thought I could never top the brutality of the Hovey Street murders in Indianapolis, but I was wrong. In Memphis, Priscilla Shaw, mother of Cecil Dotson, is mourning his death and the deaths of his girlfriend, two adult friends and two of her grandchildren. Adding insult to injury, her remaining three other grandchildren where critically wounded as well and are under police protection. Ms. Dotson has not been told which of her grandchildren is still alive. There are no suspects in the case and the police have only ruled out the possibility of murder-suicide. The police are not even sure what evening the murders occurred.

A case like this will need the assistance of witnesses to be solved, but on Lester Street like on Hovey Street and in Dunbar Village, violence is a normality and people keep to themselves. How sad that our people have to live in places like this, modern day concentration camps. Who are these monsters we are living with in our communities? Who in the hell shoots children ages 9, 5, 4, 2 and 2 months?!!!!!!!!! What kind of animal does that? What in the hell could these people have done or had that warranted such drastic measures?

Black America is in crisis people, there is no ifs, ands, or buts about it. We are dying, slowly each day and it's breaking my heart. How does a people survive the horrors of slavery, only to create our own living hell in the 21st century?
