LOL!
hey prof. ok, now you have got my sister friend up in here!
hahaha
she is a force like no other! i so admire her character and her heart.
the spirit of the Lord lives within her!
oh, funny that you put her up today--as, i was going to tell you about
the am. anthro assoc. asking her to speak/give a lecture at their conference in nov. in san fransico.
i'll give you the details as soon as i get them. (we are planning on going-not looking forward to the long flight-but the destination will be worth it!)
But let me tell you this--No other black woman has EVER been asked to give this lecture!! Go-on sister cole!! it is an honor given from God's mighty hand! i tell you!
great choice sister tracey..great choice...
I love her book, Gender Talk. Absolutely the truth!
@roslynholcomb-isn't it a great book! i love it-and her best friend-the co-author of that book is a great woman also- beverly guy-sheftal-she is at spellman-strong women-great leaders for us all.
lolo- i just have to laugh when i think about them--they warm my spirit.
I think she is truly fantastic! I took my only women's studies' class in college with her, so I am so glad I learned early on that feminism was not about white women. We read her text: All American Women, Lines that Divide, Ties that Bind (1986), a perfect example of the tensions within second wave "white women's" feminism which were to be truly reckoned with in the development of feminism among women of color.
Thanks for posting a message about her.
Her Gender Talk book is quite good. It might be something we need to read as a group and discussion online.
good idea prof...
