Throwing Wet Elephant Dung With Bare Hands - Or Is It Really That Easy To Sway The Average White Person With These Kinds Of Racist And Sexist Tactics?

If future I will be writing about how to do proactive things to prepare and protest against what is to be expected an endless series of extremely racist and sexist attacks from the McCain campaign and his neo-conservative pals against the future First Lady, Michelle Obama, but today I am just going to have to wonder whether the average white person is truly swayed by these kinds of racist and sexist attacks. Is it really that serious? Does it make white folks feel good to see a highly educated and classy black woman labeled on national television as "baby mama?" Does that really help you decide to vote for one candidate or another? Do white folks that create and chuckle at images like the one above ever wonder what feelings black people, specifically black women feel when they see these kind of images?
I find it amazing how white folks have twisted Michelle Obama's meaning about being proud of the United States as an adult for the first time, then repeatedly doing extremely racist and sexist attacks that make very clear the meaning and importance of her statement.

What I find interesting is that if the right wing media and politicos feel that strong of a need to smear the "wife" of a candidate, then what does that say about their own candidate and his wife? If Cindy McCain is all of that, then do profile after profile on her. If she is the better ideal of a first lady, then her life and career will reflect that. Isn't that the American way, to let your personal achievements and merits define you? Is that what white folks keep telling black folks?

As a white woman, I am angry and saddened to see these attacks on Michelle Obama. Personally I think Fox News should be taken off the air for this type of thing but I know this will never happen. I support the Obamas totally and am campaigning for him in every way I can. I think he will make a fine President and she a lovely and accomplished First Lady. I can't wait to show the world that we are not all racist fools!
