Obama Launches "Fight The Smears!"
I love this move by Barack Obama. If I may suggest that when you are wasting your time getting pissed off by negative attacks by right wing writers, pundits, and bloggers, take the time to add this link to whatever "hot like fire" comments you make. As much as it amazes me, but some people actually do believe there is a "tape" with Michelle Obama saying "whitey" on it and that Barack Obama will not say the Pledge of Allegiance. And even after all the Reverend Wright hoopla, there are folks that will go down in flames insisting that Barack Obama is Muslim. Heaven help folks that refuse to see or believe the truth.

It's about time that Obama started being proactive... the Dr. Wright situation spun out of control right before his eyes so he has finally understood that HE MUST squash rumors quickly without giving an audience to the rumor-mongers themselves.
Just today, I was on the phone with a Bishop's wife telling me that she read something online about Juanita Bynum and when I checked into it - the story was TOTALLY false.
I think the rumor about Obama being a Muslim will always follow him -- and it's not just because his father was a Muslim because everyone knows he never really had a relationship with him. He fueled the rumor by being SO darn ignorant about black liberation theology (that his own church has been embracing for the entire 20 years he was a member). He was unable to say anything about it when asked by reporters....but he's a Christian who has been studying the Bible? He has to take the blame for part of the reason why this rumor exists - eventhough it was concocted by racists.

Senator Obama is NOT a Dirty Muslim!
"What you won't hear from this campaign or this party is the kind of politics that uses religion as a wedge," says Mr. Obama, while denouncing statements of him being a Muslim as a smear. Why is the presidential candidate who claims to be religiously inclusive is treating the word "Muslim" as an insult? Apparently, it is OK for Mr. Obama to be associated with terrorists like William Ayers or racists like Jeremiah Wright, but God forbid somebody would call him a Muslim! No, he won't stand for that kind of smear! We admit that most terrorists are Muslims, but most Muslims are not terrorists and the statement on Mr. Obama's website is insulting to hundreds of millions of people.
How could a man who discards his family heritage in favor of political expediency be even considered for presidency of the United States? Where are all the so-called "Islamic civil rights groups" like CAIR, MPAC, ISNA, MAS, etc. who are quick to defend every Islamic terrorist, but are silent when Muslims in general are being denigrated? Would Mr. Obama have the same reaction if someone claimed that he was raised as a Jew? We sincerely doubt that.
Muslims Against Sharia demand immediate removal of "SMEAR: Barack Obama is a Muslim" statement from the official Barack Obama's website as well as an apology for giving the word "Muslim" a negative connotation.

I agree with you to a point. Muslims should not be disparaged or made the bad guy. That is absolutely correct!
With that said, I hope you are busy sending this same message to every right wing conservative blog and media agency that made Obama's Fight The Smear website necessary in the first place.
In fact, you in your own comments continued the myth. Obama was not raised in the Muslim faith, he was raised CHRISTIAN. He is CHRISTIAN. People need to accept that fact and move on!

And how exactly do we do that? We did not address the issue of him being a Muslim, neither we care whether or not he used to be one. Unlike Obama, we don't think that religion has to be a defining factor in electing a president.
