A Few Questions About The McCain/Palin People Magazine Cover

One, what does this picture look like a really bad promo for an equally awful reality television show?

Two, where is John McCain's adopted daughter of color or was this photo for white family folks only?

Three, do we get to criticize McCain and Palin for appearing with their families on the cover of People magazine like Obama and his family was criticized?

i think they are both missing a family member- palin has five children and mccain has two daughters- pam's house blend is asking what kind of family values puts her on the campaign trail with a special needs baby not a year old- unlike biden who gave up politics until his children were secure- good question the MSM won't ask.

Haha. Nice. I hadn't heard about that, but yeah...it does seem hypocritical, to say the very least.

prof, now you know that picture is not right??!!

something is just sorta freaky about it--dysfunctional looking.
they actually look like one family instead of two. the grandparents and a daughter or son and their kids-the grandkids...

it does not flow..can't put my finger on it...maybe i'm looking at it too much like an artist.

i'm not worried about him or his choices. what they have done does not surprise me at all. i really had to given it much thought except how it's bugging so many people out.

they cheat-they lie what else would they do?
it's not going to change the outcome of what will happen--just change the way we get there--that is all.

McCain looks so uncomfortable. And I think they aren't showing the daughter of color because it might bring back those early days in 2000 when GW Bush allowed a whisper campaign about McCain and his illegitimate black daughter.

Did you see how NERVOUS McCain was during his VP announcement? He was fiddling with his ring and picking at his fingernails.

Come to think of it, I rarely ever see McCain's adopted daughter. Maybe once or twice at the most. I have seen his blonde daughter a number of times. As crazy as it sounds, I sent an email via his website inquiring about this.

Professor Tracey,

You know, a lot of people asked a similar question when Brad and Angelina appeared on the cover of People with only their white children.

What is it with that magazine?

@Elle -

With Brad and Angelina it was a mega-bucks deal for the pictures of the twins, they have happily and repeatedly posed with all their children. Senator McCain is clearly and PURPOSELY hiding this child.

@prof tracey,

but brad and angelina weren't only on the cover with the twins--shiloh was there as well, which aroused the questions. See Renee's take.

It's just more hypocrisy. Maybe Bridget was hurt and wants to stay away. But they don't even mention her. It's pathetic. How can anyone seriously consider voting for that man? But they will because a lot of people are idiots! None of them have more x factor than the Obama daughters though.

The photo essentially looks like they're trying to sell something few people want to buy. And it does look like a promo for a bad reality show and that might be why it has such a manufactured feeling. It would be different if she were more well-known or if she and McCain had a better, closer relationship but this is obviously a candidacy of convenience for both of them. It's pretty sad.
