***ALERT*** WHITE FOLKS CURRENTLY ENGAGING IN MAJOR HYPOCRISY AND DOUBLE STANDARDS OVER VP PICK PALIN'S TEENAGE BABY MAMA DRAMA ***ALERT***

ATTENTION: MAJOR WHITE PEOPLE HYPOCRISY ALERT CURRENTLY IN EFFECT!

Please turn to your cable news stations to keep abreast of the latest white folks engaging in extreme hypocrisy and double-talk regarding the announcement that GOP VP pick Sarah Palin's seventeen year old daughter is five months pregnant.

Watch carefully as white folks who remained dead silent when the Obama family was smeared again and again with unsubstantiated rumors and lies, beg and plead with teary eyes and quavering voices to let this very real Palin story remain a "private family matter."

Do not be alarmed by this behavior, this is white hypocrisy in it's early stages. Please be aware that it's severely contagious to GOP pundits, right-wing journalists, wishy-washy white women of liberal and moderate leanings, pro-life groups, and right-wing family values groups.

If you are not a member of one of these highly susceptible groups, you are still in grave danger of falling for the white folks okey-doke fever.

For your immediate protection, please remember that Governor Sarah Palin cannot expect privacy over her teen-aged daughter engaging in pre-martial sex and having an unplanned pregnancy when her statements as a public official have made clear that she wishes to regulate and limit the reproductive rights and sexual education rights of women and other teenagers like her daughter. This is white folks hypocrisy in it's severest form!

If you are African American and female and you discover that you maybe developing sympathy for the Palin situation, you are in the beginning stages of feeling for Miss Ann and Massa syndrome, please read the following quote to combat those affects -

"When the subject is a pregnancy to an unwed, minority teenage mother growing up in some (presumably Democratic) urban area, that pregnancy becomes fodder for lectures from conservatives about bad parenting, the perils of welfare spending and so on. But when the subject is a pregnancy to an unwed, white teenager from some small town in a Republican state, that pregnancy is...a celebration of the wonders of God's magnificence--and choosing life!" ― Thomas Schaller

THIS IS THE FIRST MAJOR OUTBREAK OF WHITE HYPOCRISY FOR THE MCCAIN/PALIN TICKET AND IT WILL NOT BE THE LAST! THIS ALERT WILL REMAIN IN EFFECT UNTIL NOVEMBER 4, 2008!

Hell they tried to drag Michelle's name in the mud by calling her Obama's Baby's Mamma. They ain't slick.

They did the same thing with that Jamie Lynn Spears chick- trying to justify her teen pregancy. You see white women get passes on foolishness like this daily.

I've been hearing for the past few days that Palin is lacking in the parent department and it shows.

The sad thing about this whole ordeal is I wonder if her daughetr had any say in whether or not she was going to keep the baby being that her mom is against Pro-Choice rights and all.

The conservatives will try to guilt/punk Dems into not doing the same crap they would do in a HEARTBEAT.

And Democrats fall for it thinking they shouldn't mention it because it will backfire. It never seems to backfire on the GOP.

The politicians don't say a word. They let Hannity, O'Reilly, Malkin, Limbaugh and Coulter say it all then say they have no control over what the pundits say all the while giving them talking points.

And the Democrats will play nice guy. See Gore and Kerry.

Its like GOP double agent. You think you're being shrewd by saying lets not do this because it will backfire. All the while the GOP has set up the playing field to get you to abstain all on your own.

And what is so sad is that 99% of bloggers and commenters I have read today are on point. The double standard, the hypocrisy, the policy. Very few are criticizing the child. I hate when Democrats allow a perfectly good and legitimate talking point to be silenced for fear of the GOP making them look bad. They look bad because they can't manage their own message.

THAT is the number one reason why too often the Democrats don't keep in step with the GOP. Not because they aren't smart enough to realize/make a good move or because they aren't smart enough to not go there. Its because they don't have the guts to GO THERE.

Yep. They never applaud single black mothers for "choosing life", do they? I thought pregnant teens and single mothers were the downfall of civilized society?

Maglet September 1, 2008 at 9:21 PM

You're exactly right! I'm not in danger of falling for that mess.

Would it be too early to declare McCain done? I'm just sayin'...

I. Love. You. Some white feminists told me I was "slut-shaming" today for pointing this out.

I really need to update my "Sit Your Azz Down" list ASAP.

Isn't this all just hilarious. Obama wants us to not attack the family. And I don't have anything against a teenager. But I do have a problem with the Rethugs and their media goons. I remember Bill O saying Jamie Spears had no morals because of her mama. So now what's he got to say? They need to hear it and hear it LOUDLY.

You are right on the money Professor Tracey! I haven't heard ANYONE describe the situation as pointedly, and as well as you!

LOL,

I find that troubling that Palin's allowed to use her motherhood and children as a positive attribute for running for public office, but if her family stuff gets prickly, it's sexism and unfair to criticize her.

Me too!

It seems the only conservative with some sense is Dr. Laura Schlessinger.
