Where In The Hell Is PETA On Sarah "Save The Babies But Kill All The Animals" Palin?

Where in the hell is PETA? Sarah Palin is the poster child for killing animals and you haven't heard a damn thing from PETA. When I think about how quickly and publicly PETA moved to crush NFL superstar Michael Vick over pitbulls (and you know I love pitbulls, so don't go there) I am REALLY wondering where in the hell are the PETA protesters now on the subject of GOP VP pick, Sarah Palin.Palin advocates shooting wolves from airplanes, killing moose for sport, not food, and covers her home in animal skins as trophies from her animal-killing hobby. Not to mention her absolute stupidity on the subject of whether polar bears are an endangered species. I thought she would be public enemy #1 for PETA, but it's nothing but silence from good ole PETA.
I find it very interesting that PETA got so fired up to sink one black athlete, mobilizing in mass to protest outside of football stadiums, willing to take on the entire NFL, but here is a woman running for the second highest office in the land, who loves to kill animals for absolutely no reason at all other than because she can, and PETA is dead SILENT! Funny that!

I think you picked up on something everyone else has missed; just googled for PETA and Palin and came up with nothing remotely close to this point of view beyond a joke that PETA = Palin for Eating Tasty Animals. I wonder if Huffington Post would publish your article if you expanded and submitted it?

I think Peta is actually leaving her alone for 2 reasons
1) even if she shots for sport - she actually cleans and eats the MOOSE STEW.
2) any idiot can see the stupidity of hunting an animal from a plane - that is not very noble - like hunting deer with an AK47. (but they still do)

Peta can fight her in the undergorund - grass roots. We have already had BABYGATE which had nothing to do with election issues. I really do not want to be side tracked by the save the MOOSSES people vs the NRA. The NRA comes to VOTE in masses and has MUCHO GRANDE' DOLLARS - the PETA people? Yes my persoanl conscience is sad - but until they come with a LARGER voting block and political voice, I do not want them side tracking the issue at hand - To elect OBAMA/Biden and not elect MCcain/Palin.

@Page -

I agree, but you're missing my point. I find it interesting that a predominantly whit organization when after a BLACK man with guns blazing, but are dead quiet when a WHITE woman running for the second highest office in the land is violating EVERY so-called principle they believe in.
I think they are racist hypocrites in their silence on this issue.

Professor Tracy, I agree with your point totally......There are more white people than black fighting dogs and they used M Vick as a POSTER child for this cause....but he sorta set himself up (hiz boys did not help) and PETA had a GRAND opportuntity to exploit this and make him pay dearly. His celebrety - black celebrety helped their cause.
They may be racist,I do find them to be hyprocrites, but more so opportunist. I am ASSuming that the Peta people are mostly librals and I am praying in the optimistic side of my Cum-ba-ya brain that they realize this is not the time to take on legal hunting issues and rile up the base even more for Palin.... we do no need more Bubba's and Beth Ann's ( say this in your BEST Strom Thurmond voice) "fighten fo staes righhh an the righhh to bar arms thooh Mccain/Palin" (ew i can see the spit on his lower lip as I read that sentence ewwwwwwwww)

Hi Tracey,

I see your point and had been wondering the same thing. However, after reading Page's comment, I can see the issues raised. The last thing we need is to rile up that crazy ass base any more. I'm already in fear of a McCain/Palin administration. If they win despite the 8 years of Bush, they are going to believe that they have a mandate from God and - well..... I don't know if some of us will survive. Some of you may be too young, but I went through 4 years of high school and 4 years of college under Reagan and it was horrible. He came in thinking he had a mandate and I'm sure you know what happened. So, if PETA keeps silent for whatever reason, then that's OK with me. We don't need the NRA getting into this mess.

The people at PETA operate with no rhyme or reason and without any principle. The fact that they’re silent about Palin doesn’t surprise me one bit. I personally believe killing animals for sport is wrong, but there are many organizations that I would prefer to address this issue than PETA.

Yes, their silence on Palin exposes their hypocrisy, but it’s welcomed by me, because all they would do is distract voters, excite the nra folks and in the end do nothing to propel a genuine conversation on animals rights as they always do.

Your point is well taken however and this is the first I’ve heard anyone bring it up.

Agreed. We need to see you on our TV screen. Your posts covering the election have been superb. Is that in your future.

Hi Professor Tracey!

I haven't commented in a while. (no intervernet after hurricane Gustav) But I agree with you sentiments. A lot of stuff surrounding Palin is hypocritical.

I wrote tot hem and told them their silence on this issue will earn them a STHU badge forever in my book if they do nothing. I didn't even know who Michael Vick was until the PETA/racist pile up. How is it that he is in prison when Scooter Libby walks free?

Felicity September 10, 2008 at 9:45 AM

PETA are a good joke anyway!

scooter had friends in high places - vicks friends ratted him out quick (he should have had friends like barry bonds- would your friends go to jail for you for 2 years.....)

The moose picture is so sad! The pain etched in her/his face is unbearable.
