John McCain Makes "That One" The New "You People" Of The 21st Century!

"You People" - Ross Perot, July 1992
"That One" - John McCain, October 2008

Don't fall for the okey doke spin of white folks, John McCain's phrase "that one" was flat-out racist, PERIOD!!!! No ifs, ands, or buts about it. Please ignore the media and the pundits, let them ask black folks what they think about the phrase, then let's talk!

Further, it was not John McCain's only racist moment of the night, he was completely condescending to the young bother that asked him a specific question on the economy and McCain implied that the brother had probably never heard of Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac!

I find it funny McCain would think that ANYONE had not heard of Ms. Mae and Mr. Mac at this point in time!

Well all the media and pundits I've seen so far are comparing the phrase to Ross Perot. I caught that Fanny Mae thing, and when he turned his back on the young sister when she asked about the environment. Like Chris Rock said I'm always on the lookout for racism, and every time you look up now days from the repubs you see racism. Wonder if Alan Keys is still proud to be affiliated.

I noticed that too.... "you've probably never heard of Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac"? It was a weird and definitely condescending. And I think his "that one" (especially the gesture that came with it) will stick with McCain until Nov. 4.

I'm glad you caught that! I definitely caught it! I was like, "WTF was that?" I expect McCain to get uglier and uglier as election day gets closer. "That one"? He clearly objectified Obama as if he wasn't even a person. Is McCain revealing his frustration that he can't score a knockout punch even though he feels Obama is out of his league? I liked senator Obama's composure; he reminded me of Malcolm X when he smiled off some of McCain's comments.

I was washing dishes when I heard that and I was like "Oh hell no, he didn't". I could FEEL the condescending tone in which McCain said it; like "oh, you're one of them that CAUSED this crisis".

I was too through with the "friends"...dude, I'm not your friend, and you're damn sure not mine!

And, I was surprised Obama didn't say anything about that. I held off rinsing the dishes so I could hear the answer...just kidding! But, I really wanted Obama to say something to that. I guess if he did, it would've been seen as "sticking up for his kind".

@hottnikz, Keyes is actually running on the Presidential ticket...again...under the American Independent ballot.

I am glad I wasn't being overly racially sensitive on the "That One" or the assumption that black man knew nothing of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. It is so sad how many people don't realize how racist they truly are.
