Black Republican Leadership Dreams - Do Michael Steele Or Ken Blackwell Have A Snowball's Chance In GOP Hell Of Being Named RNC Chair?
The GOP who got their butts kicked in this past election seemed to be struggling mightily to get the fact that they can't stay the Grand Old WHITE Party. They now have two black candidates running for the RNC chairmanship, but the RNC seems to be figuring out ways not to have either black guy. I find Michael Steele interesting and I can't stand Ken Blackwell, but this should be a no-brainer for the RNC. The funny part will be if they pick the white dude that belonged for many years to a "whites only" country club in the 21st century!

Racism is so embedded into that party that I cannot see them picking a black leader even sellouts like the ones you mentioned. They know that they need a way forward it is clear that they are going to try to work on getting the white female vote. They saw that Palin excited people. Watch in the next 4 years the way that they begin to push white women forward.
The GOP gave up on the African-American vote a long time ago (They still use their "Southern Strategy" to gain votes for goodness sake! And the "real America" "pro America" and the "anti-community organizer" rhetoric was nauseating).
This is the party where their apparent standard-bearer, Sarah Palin, was asked why there were no minorities of any kind at her rallies, and answered by empathizing with minorities because her husband is half native Alaskan. NOT GOOD ENOUGH, SARAH!! So, I'm not buying the GOP's outreach by floating these two AA men as chair or Bobby Jindal as the future of the party.
