Update: O.J. Simpson Gets Nearly 15 Years
O.J. Simpson is going down like the Titanic today at that sentencing hearing. He's gonna get double-digit years. At 61, anything over 15 years might as well be a life sentence anyway. This dude ain't gonna be able to survive long without golf, white women, and something to sign and sell.

Good. I studied some psychopathology in grad school and this guy has classic personality disorder issues.

I really wish I felt differently, but I can't empathize with him on this one. He walked on double murder. All he had to do was maintain a low profile and chill. Instead, he's out there tripping, rubbing folk face in it. You can't dodge the big one. Face it, he got 14 more years of life than his victims did.

but i also smiled at what you said pt, and what came into my mind= no women but white men are there, he can play golf on the computer, and he Can sign and sell his name for 'favors' from the others.
He blew his chance @ freedom. He was too arrogant to buy his own stuff back. He knew the risks he gambled and lost. I feel sorry for his buddy going down as well. This dude is poison. Whatever money he has left will get squeezed out of him in prison by other criminals. I expect him to kill himself. I don't think he has the desire or the mentality to survive.
Goodbye and Good Riddance. The only person I felt sorry was his daughter Sydney was in the courtroom with him. Those kids must be so messed up.
I seriously doubt ANYONE wouls have given a damn about this case if it hadn't been two WHITE people he was accused of murdering.
White folks' memory is short when it comes to black life, but you guys already know that.
I don't feel sorry for him, but at the same time I do think white folks were in "payback" mode when they were deliberating.

While I don't feel sorry for him, I do feel like white folks are using this as an excuse to put him under the jail. He got 15 years. I would feel sorry for him but he had to know that those white people wanted to get their revenge. He played right into their hands.
I too don't feel sorry for him because he did get arrogant with it. But, even his lawyers said this was payback for '95 in a way. I think he killed them, but he had some help. However, they are about to drop the appeal bomb and once again OJ may not see some time or they're hoping will do at least a year. They're going on the ground of...
1. He's 61 and not in bad health but definitely not good.
2. He didn't have a jury of his peers. All the jurors where white, except the 2 alternates that were both black.
3. I guess charge they got him on doesn't fit the actual crime under Nevada law.
I was watching CNN and the commentators were saying that while most 1st time appeals are denied, he still may have a decent shot at it.
Round 3 here we go.
Isn't it interesting that even the planning stages were tape recorded by his accomplices?
Damn...and that Judge went HARD on him, too. She was not trying to hear that. lol
