First Lady Michelle Obama Not Feeling The Sasha And Malia Beanie Baby Dolls At All

I'm completely indifferent about the dolls, but I have been bracing myself for the coming exploitation of the first family's marketability. First Lady Michelle Obama better get ready also, because I have a feeling folks are just getting started. I think black folk are going to have to be like the GOP on the numerous issues that are going to come up about the first family, we are going to have to pick and chose what we get upset about.

Check out what my blogging sista, Tami of What Tami Says has to say on this issue.

The Obama's are a goldmine! Heck, Black people period are goldmines! They've been making money off of our backs since our ancestors arrived here in chains and it is not about to stop now. We just need to do the same but in a more respectable manner and not to exploit their names. Personally, I don't like the dolls.

As I've said before, I'll say it again 'Black is the new Black' and we're in! LOL!

I agree that there will be all kinds of personal attacks against their family and as usual that FAUX(FOX) News is leading the way. They refuse to deal with the reality and would rather produce petty garbage than substance worth repeating.

FOX and their owner Rupert Murdoch is so far to the right, he’s off the radar! The sad part is this man owns half of this countries media outlets and uses his influence to shape their views.

And would somebody please muzzle that evil Michelle Malkin!

They still can’t believe that our President is Black! You know that everything that we do must be checked, studied and put under a microscope before it's accepted as being valid.

I've already commented about this over at What Tami Said - I thought that the dolls were okay and since I'm always looking for positive influences for my daughter, this is one of the many Obama products I might actually buy.

But having said that: now that Michelle O. has weighed in, I think these folks should respect her opinion on matter. And I agree - they are going to have to be vigilant over these next few years. America is watching everything they do! They have to try their best to protect Sasha and Malia's images.

(Of course, now the dolls will be worth 10 times the asking price on eBay...)

I dont see anything wrong with the concept of the dolls but I haven't followed up yet to see what Mrs. Obama dislikes.

As a mother of 5 daughters 10-25 I've always searched for dolls/toys that accentuated their culture.

I do agree that the images projected have a life long affect. All things won't be controlled, but there is a fine line between images that build up someone or destroy them.

At first I was like, WTH? I don't think I'm feeling this because your using the girls for marketability. Mom and Dad, yes. But the girls are young, so back off.

But then at church I was talking to one ofmy friends and he was telling me that fof his son's 4th birthday they went to Build-A-Bear and he made a bear. I have no clue why,but the first thought that came to my head was that Build-A-Bear is cute and it would cute to make a bear and name it after either of the Obama girls. I caught myself in thought, as I remembered I said I didn't like the doll thing on another blog.

Guess I'm on the fence now :)
