Professor Tracey And Her New Puppy Pancho - The Lil' Blue-Eyed Devil Wish Everyone A Happy New Year!

Meet my new lil' bad-ass - Pancho aka The Lil' Blue-Eyed Devil
I will always love and miss my other Lil' Monsta Che, but this little guy is worming his way into my heart. He thinks he's running things just like Che did. Don't let the white fur fool you, this is a "magic negro" dawg - nice huge brown spot on his butt. One drop rule in full effect!

Just ended up here for the first time through a series of links....

It is very disheartening to read posts/comments that reflect so much racism or preoccupation with race. We are all human...so-called "race" is really trivial. Why not start obsessing about blue eyes or people with flat feet? In todays' time, obsession with race is just grotesque.

Two of your favorite movies, Rabbit Proof Fence and Once Were Warriors are also two of my favorite movies. They are two of a trio of movies I call boo-hoo cryin movies. The third is the movie King of Masks. I thought King of Masks would be a little quaint and predictable...it sorta was but it still left me boo-hoo cryin.

Aaaw! What a sweetie! Congrats on the new family member.

...And count me in as one more for the Twilight Zone marathon.

(Off to tell my black-and-white Border Collie about the one-drop rule.)

@Laura,

I'm black and proud of it. I always wonder when folks start "talking" about the "human race" when a situation revolves around the voices and experiences of black people.

This blog is called Aunt Jemima's Revenge, not I forgive folks for ever having invented Aunt Jemima in the first place, let's all be humans now.

I can't afford to run around with my head in the sand pretending racism does not exist and I will never pretend that my blackness does not make me unique as a human being.

And race is trivial to whom? this country would not be making a big deal out of a black president if race was trivial and if race was truly trivial, we would have had a person of color in the white house long before now considering some of the idiots that have been elected in the past.

And considering the number of comments and reactions I get, a whole lot of folks don't think talking, debating and discussing race and racism is trivial.

And lastly, this was a joke post about my new puppy for God sakes, my regular readers clearly get it. If you had read a few more posts without judging maybe you would have gotten the joke too.

OK I was wondering why you had a dog with white fur and blue eyes!

Dr. Tracey Salisbury January 3, 2009 at 10:58 PM

@Laura -

If you want to believe that it's okay for your "human race" to refer to the first black man that was elected President as a "magic negro" fine, I'll stay over here where "real" black folks will have the guts, heart, and self-respect to cuss your ass out for calling me that racist crap!

Good luck to you too!

Laura, clearly this isn't the blog for you. Professor Tracey only speaks for herself. We come here to read it, enjoy the humor in it, and move on. I'm sure you can google "ambiguous negro blog" to find something of your liking. LOL Static in 2009? Don't start none, won't be none.

I literally laughed at loud at this quote: Don't let the white fur fool you, this is a "magic negro" dawg - nice huge brown spot on his butt. One drop rule in full effect!

Happy New Year

Naturally Me! January 5, 2009 at 2:18 PM

Aaaw, one drop rule indeed! He looks just like my dog, Georgie (an all white Amer. Bulldog, with black ears and black nose). Yes, named after President Bush because they both can't say Nuclear. LOL joking

Enjoy the little guy while he's still little. He will bring you lots of laughs and good times.
