MK, January 29, 2009 at 3:01 AM: When I first heard about this on the news today, all I thought was, mail is already slow and now you want to take a day away?! If they have to take a day, I vote Saturday. Most businesses operate Mon-Fri, that all Im saying.
ch555x, January 29, 2009 at 8:30 AM: I'd be fine with Saturday's since a good portion of business isn't done on the weekend anyways. Plus, this Internet gizmo isn't helping the cause. I'm not advocating (don't care!), but I could see this tradition ending in the near future to give way to more Internet-like transactions and charging a few cents per.

I believe that it was an effort to privatize it and now it has to compete with the internet and UPS/FedEX. It's a Nationalized service and should remain so. It's there for the benefit of the people not to make a profit for some private cabal. Just ranting.
