Is Somebody, Anybody Going to Raise The Issue About How "White" And Lacking In Diversity The GOP Convention Is?
How in the 21st century can a man be running for the presidency of the United States and no one raise the question that his support base overwhelmingly represents only one segment of the population? And that his campaign makes absolutely no effort to appeal to the needs or issues of anyone but that predominately white base? Is John McCain running for President of the United States Of America or is he running for President of White America? This is a truly interesting question since Barack Obama must appeal to multiple group of people in order to be elected President.

I can't even be surprised anymore that the MSM doesn't talk about race, especially when it comes to the Repugs. When they pan the crowds, though, you can't help but notice that most everybody there is:
-White (though the few who weren't were given token status)
-Older
-At least somewhat wealthy
-Definitely straight
-Able-bodied
-Adhering to strict definitions of what it means to be a man or woman
This paradigm, to them, is what everybody should be. Those who don't conform are deviants and must be shut out. It was sickening.
I watched the Republican Convention last night and all I can say is wow. I thin kI counted 3 non-white folks in audience.
Speaks volumes.
It's not like it matters if the party is all white. They win. If they were losing the presidency, they'd court minority voters more often. If Obama wins, they'll probably review the party's future in light of a minority winning.
